I was the victim of a home invasion.
Three men broke into my house during the middle of the day.
I had taken the day off from work because of a slight fever and sore throat. Normally, I would not have been home. I think the intruders expected the residence to be empty. They threatened me, locked me in a closet and proceeded to rob my house. They stole electronics, cash, jewelry, several paintings and small appliances. I have never been so frightened in my entire life. After the home invasion, I suffered from PTSD. I couldn’t not stand to be in my own home. I was nervous going out in public and terrified of the dark. I decided to move away from the city of Jacksonville and buy a home in a more rural location. I had such severe mental health issues that I couldn’t manage a traditional real estate listing. There was no way I could handle a home inspection, professional repairs or an open house. I couldn’t force myself to step inside that house. I simply wanted to be done with the sale as quickly and painlessly as possible. I filled out an online form associated with a local cash home buyer. I provided information about the home and in less than twenty-four hours, I received an offer. I accepted immediately. A big benefit of working with a cash home buyer is that they take care of all of the paperwork and assorted requirements. I didn’t need to do anything but show up for the closing. We even scheduled the closing date to my preference. Within two weeks, I was done with that house. Because I received the full amount from a cash home buyer, I had enough money to buy a small house in a gated community.
