A discovery of rebar

The house was a fixer-upper, and we knew that going in.

Jessie and I had been yearning for a house of our own, so we could stop renting a tiny apartment, and we got our chance at a local property auction. For a fraction of what a new home costs we were able to purchase a used one. Granted, this place was a little beat up, and had certainly seen better days, but with some money, some hard work, and enough time, we could make it amazing. The first step was removing all the junk the previous owners had left behind, which is when we found the rebar. Rebar rods are incredibly dense and heavy, as are the double loop wire ties we found. Jessie wanted to drag it all down to the dump, but I knew there was probably a better use for the rebar rods and wire ties… I just didn’t know what it was! We did some Google searches and watched some very instructional videos that taught us how difficult it is to work with rebar rods and wire ties. We had enough material here to build a swimming pool, because it turns out rebar rods and wire ties are essential for making the concrete forms to keep a pool in shape! Neither Jessie nor I had the skills to build anything, so instead we posted pics and details for all the wire ties, forming wire, and rebar rods on Craigslist. Within two days we sold all of the rebar rods and wire ties, and made a nice little profit!
