Galvanized tie wire coils

I bought a large wooden roll that had heavy telephone wire on it at one time.

I wanted to get a couple more of the wood rolls, but the only ones I saw were still full.

I heard they had galvanized tie wire coils back in stock at the home center, and I went to check them out. A part of me knew I was being foolish, but I was hoping they would be huge empty rolls, like the one I had already purchased. If they were that big, I was going to ask if I have it reserved for me, once it became empty. I was making a couple of outside bar tables. It would be perfect for on my patio, when there was standing room only. I went to the home center and asked where they kept their galvanized tie wire coils. When they showed me to that section, I was surprised to see small rolls of wire that I could easily wrap over my arm and carry out. I explained what I was looking for, and the man told me I would need to go to a construction site if I wanted that kind of empty roll. I felt like an idiot. On the way home, I passed an area where they putting new electric wire on the poles. I pulled over and asked if I could have the wood form when it was empty. One man looked at the other and shrugged. He told me to come back in about two hours and they would let it sitting in the parking lot for me if they finished before I returned.
